Tim and Ryan worked their butts off and I sat in for the most part for a 5th place finish. It was nice to work the long car ride out of my legs... I hope that the next day will feel better. I doubt that it will. With some of the names on the roster the race will be more like hanging on for dear life.

It was anything but Manville madness. More like Manville, let’s sit in the pack and not do any work….while you Savagehill guys try to get something started. OHHH….and we’ll just sit on your wheel for the entire race. The race was only exciting when one us made a move. If not for the Savagehill cycling team I think the spectators would have lost interest very quickly. What can I say we’re fun to watch.
Quick report: We attempted several times to get breaks started but nothing stayed. Towards the last 8 laps of the race, two guys went off the front but could not hold the pace. The second to last lap Rish took the lead and strung out the field so myself and Chris could get good positioning for the finish. In the last lap the group bunched up again and everyone waited for that “guy” to attack the field and he did. We came into the last turn and all you heard was POP< POP

For Brandons first race he did exceptionally well. Having never raced before, other than the kids sprint races, he did not know what to expect. The race consisted of 15-20 riders who varied in age from 10-14, and was ridden on a open rolling industrial park course. They completed (6) one mile laps. Your first race can be very intimidating, especially when everyone around you seems to have more experience than you. Brandon rode hard and pushed the pace all the way through the final climb. It was a good day for the Savage Hill Junior Program. Each and every event that is ridden is a learning experience. -cf
