We must have been cursed. It started spitting rain before the race and then it quit near the end of it. It turned out to be a beautiful day, but not during our race.

Indy Hand Center was in force with 8-9 riders. Four of them were going for placings and the other 5 were chasers. I can't get away because they get motivated and tag team chase me. I tried that once and I didn't stay away long. Forget that!

I ended up riding near the front to stay out of the spray and stay away from the accordion effect for only the last corner. Daniel Houchins broke away again while I was pinned down and nobody wanted to chase. Same thing that happened on stage 1.

...So I had to work to defend my 2nd overall in the sprint. I had a good position on the back stretch, but while the group slowed, I got boxed in. That made it tough, I got in behind the IHC train and they just about rammed into one of their guys (KC) who was already going up the hill to the finish. I followed to stake my claim and I finished 6th for the day finishing two places behind the #3 GC guy. I only lost 7 points to him when I had 15 to give.
