Winter again! I hope not! I thought I was used to riding in this weather. I only rode inside for less than 10 hrs since December. The cold steady rain kept racers from coming today. Thanks to Summit for putting on a great race.
With a low turn out due to the weather, the race was hard from the start. The pace never let up! I went with what I thought were good break attempts and I found myself Redlined all but 5 min of the race!
Four laps to go and the other riders were closing in on our group of 4. I took a very hard pull for too long of a time and got attacked by one of our 4 riders in the break leaving us with 3. I felt we were in trouble then. It took me 1 lap to recover from the attack and after that I didn't care who caught us!
We did get caught by one rider in the last 500 meters, but I had more than enough for the sprint finish. Thank you Jesus for the strength you have giving to me. I am very blessed and grateful for the over abundance of health that I have.
