All the fast people in the previous two races weren't there because of the Bank of America Classic later that day, so it was more like a local crit rather than a NRC race. There were still 60 guys lined up though, I don't know where they all come from, but they are always there. Anyway, the course had a hill and some tight turns. On the first and second lap I noticed that by cornering normally and I mean by not slamming on my brakes every 200 yards, I kept gapping people on the corners. So on the third lap I took off solo and stayed away. One other guy bridged up to me after about 20 minutes (it was a 60 minute crit) and we worked together quite well until the sprint.
I must say that is the absolutely most boring way to win a bike race. I counted every single second of the race, I used to think cross races took forever, but this definately took the cake. Maybe it had something to do with it being in a parking lot, racing around cones always makes the time fly.
